There is a world just over your shoulder, one you glimpse out of the corner of your eye, but can never see. A world just like ours, but the rules go sideways and the possibilities are almost endless.

Come join Five Kingdoms

The idea is simple: gather people of like mind together, people who want to tell stories, want to create in a world that doesn't hamper them down with rules. Hey, nothing wrong with "the Man's" version of what we call reality, but some of us know it's not that simple...and that's where Five Kingdoms come into play.
We want to create a world, a rich tapestry with a few loose rules and a general geography, and then let people go nuts. This is Five Kingdoms.

Geographically, imagine a giant field in the middle. The middle of what? It doesn't matter. Surrounding the field on all sides are a forest, and through that forest in any direction you will find the Five Kingdoms.

Some are of an age past, some are of an age yet to be. And some are of a time and place that only existed in dream...or nightmare.

If you are interested in a safe haven to write, a web-based community of people like you, interested in telling stories, wanting nothing more than to put ideas out there, to get better at their craft, Five Kingdoms is for you.

This is a no-pressure communal approach. Once the world is created, the geography and places named, a few rules decided upon, you are on your own, able to write whatever you choose. A website will be constructed to house the project (at least until we go big time and get a book contract.)

The Community aspect allows for a safe environment for positive feedback from others just like you who want to be better writers, perhaps even to collaborate on a story or character; the possibilities are endless.

If you're interested in being a part of Five Kingdoms, there are a few questions we'd like to know about you. Please take no more than five minutes to answer the following, and send it to Hyperion (hyperioninstitite@gmail dot com)

2. Do you have expertise in website content, or would be willing to learn, and are you willing to help with that aspect of the project? ____________

3. Would you be willing to help in creation of the map that we use for the world? _______ (if so, please indicate whether you have access to a scanner and what drawing programs you have access to on a computer)

4. Would you be interested in helping come up with a few stock characters that roam this world that we all could use communally as bit characters in the story? (sort of tie the stories together)

5. Would you be interested in collaborative stories, with one or more other members?
